Broken Pacemakers
Looks like the Pacers are circling back to the ‘trade your unhappy star and act like you never like the guy.’ Well I hope everybody learned a thing or two from the last experience!! Practice makes perfect, yah know?! The front office almost got it right last time. Now its time to double down and go for broke. Scared money doesn’t make money.
I don’t have much hostility to Oladipo right now, It’s a bunch of buzz. I am however excited to see what happens. Personally, I’m choosing to hope for the Win-Win option. I don’t know what you’re choosing, but I’d recommend remembering that Oladipo is a human with free will, and that at the end of the day you enjoyed watching him play basketball for the pacers. So, I humbly advise to act accordingly.
If there’s any merit to these rumor that could mean a few things.
1. Dipo is on the outs of this team. He’s just not having a good time, man. Can’t be fun coming back from an injury to a completely new team 80% thru a season and try and fit in
2. Oladipo doesn’t feel needed anymore. Sport Psychology is always such a cool field. Finding ways to keep athletes sharp is huge. Post Injury psyche can be a rather delicate thing. New team, New Role, Same shitty offense. A lot of new variables that make this makes sense as a possibility to me.
3. Does this change stem back to the injury or is has this always been the plan for Vic? The ball out and bail for the bag is a classic, can’t blame Vic because the ballin part was quite fun.
4. Assuming what I’ve said it true (big if, bear with me) where Oladipo is Best friends forever AE with Sabonis AND Oladipo is on the outs with the team where is Sabonis?
- Is he also on the outs and wants to play elsewhere? Or is he in the situation like a Gerry Bertier Situation and Oladipo is his friend, Ray Budds, that missed the block because he’s a racist son o’ bishhh?
The Interesting thing is that this is a possible catalyst moment for this team. Not how Bjorkmiester wanted to start out his tenure as coach. Kevin Pritchard not afraid to pull a trigger on a trade, but when do the pacers pull the trigger on him? Plenty of Parties at play here while the roster seems all but set in stone here.
Oladipo - accused by the sports media conglomerations of asking to play for other teams in front of teammates.
Sabonis – Plays same position as Myles. Traded with Oladipo. All- Star. Does that Touch Balls and shoot a three with Dipo at every Pregame. Didn’t play in the bubble.
Myles Turn - accused of lying to said sports media conglomerations by Oladipo’s twin sister on twitter
Malcom Brogdon– An interesting Neutral Party I wonder how this will shake out for him. From what I’ve gathered, Malcom cares a lot. There were reports that he was very Anti McMillian’s offense and vocal about it. I think Malcom’s future with this team could be heavily influenced with a possible trade. He’d have the most opportunity to gain with Oladipo going elsewhere.
TJ Warren and Jakarr Sampson- Hoopers just trying to Hoop. Major keys for next season moving forward.
Holiday Brothers – Aaron on contract, Justin is a free agent but defiantly a goal headed into the offseason. Aaron could be huge if he grows into a competent starter
McWhiteBois – Everyone loves McConnell (see implicit bias) but McDermott is still getting warmed supposedly and will be really good in time. Fuuuck maybe McDermott gets traded, but I’d expect to see both crackers in the line up again next year.
tJ leaf – please for the love of god cut his ass.
54th pick- equivalent to a half-eaten cherry to go on whatever trade package the ol pacers can put together to save this season from impending doom.
I don’t know what will happen. These rumors are like hot dogs, fake as hell and from shady origins. No amount of ketchup is going to fix it. Do I want a trade? Ehh sure I guess, as long as Malcom, Warren, and Turner aren’t involved in the deal. Do I think resigning Lance will fix all the issues? Yes, I do. So like value my opinions accordingly.
