Give PG all the Mics
Scrolling the timeline today and between all the spoopify wrapped posts and the woj bomb reactions I came across an interesting video, you might have seen. Its Paul George, Matt Barnes, and Stephen Jackson talking clippers collapse on their podcast. Just an all time group of bad decision making. What could possibly go wrong… One thing I’ve grown to appreciate about PG is that every time this guy gets a mic its going to be gold. In this interview PG-13 looking chill af while laying the blame for the playoffs on the coaching staff for making no adjustment and not using him correctly. I see a lot of criticisms of his interviews. Sure some of which do hold some merit. But like come onnnn. Like maybe theres some evidience that PG never takes any blame and always spreads it around ever where else. Surely he won’t keep using the optional offseason surgery excuse again, oh wait, neverminded…. neeeext time he won’t. But like you don’t climb to the top of the NBA not thinking highly of your abilities and less of others apparently! Doesn’t make it right or the correct way, but understand PG is a real person with real thoughts and emotions. He has flaws like you and me. Take me for example, I have a messy room and can never find anything which in turn always makes me late, but I’ll blame it on traffic a million times before i clean my room. I’m sure stardom might go to my head a bit so no judgement here (saving it for later). My main take away is that every time he talks it feels like he really believes what he’s saying. No matter how far off reality it is, its the reality that PG is living. Its a completely unintentional invitation into PG’s headspace. He talks a lot like he hoops calm cool and a complete determent to the team at points. But that’s the Risk of PG and I love it. A media liability is a top tier star characteristic for me ( a lot better when they play elsewhere). PG and his career as an NBA superstar maybe coming to a close but he’ll always have a promising career as a TV analyst.
If I could go back in time, I’d give PG this advice, Don’t fuck Roy Hibbert’s wife.
all of this could have been avoided. Pacers could have had 6 straight championships and I wouldn’t be here typing about an interview about pg blowing a 3-1 lead
If you take anything from this let be this; (nice jack that semicolon should make them think you’re smart)
if you’re ever in a bind - blame everyone else and request a trade.
