The Scout

I have to say I don’t know much about baseball but I know there was a strike in 1994 that cancelled the season. Which is also the same year this movie was released. Oddly enough after a little digging I found out that this movie released just about 2 weeks after the season was cancelled due to the strike. Turns out this movie did NOT fill the void left in the hearts of millions of baseball fans and was poorly received. Which is kind of bonus points for the movie in my mind. I was too undiagnosed ADHD to care for baseball as a child. And I would have been maybe 20 days old when all this happened irl (that’s “in real life” if your reading this mom) .

To be honest, outside of Brendan Fraser this movie was kind of really. Dramedies are pretty meh sometimes. Outside of badass mummy hunter this is Brendan Frasers best kind of role. Big, goofy outsider people want to take advantage of but cant because he learns to be human in the end. Saw it in Encino man and School ties. Now pretty much has perfected it in the scout. I mean the dude is a G in the movie. when it comes down to it Steve Nebraska is a top tier cinematic athlete and it’s not a debate.

  1. Space Jam Jordan

  2. Steve Nebraska Fraser

  3. Bobby Buche aka Waterboy

The plot is ridiulous, the other guy in the movie is super annoying. There’s very little baseball which is fantastic, but that just meant more time for the other guy to annoy the shit out of me and less signature Frase 450ft bombs.
